Summary
You will serve as a Fuel Distribution System Worker in the Fuel Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SAN DIEGO.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the receipt, storage, transfer and issue of a variety of petroleum and lubricating oil (POL) products.
You will operate pumps, valves, and ancillary equipment to load, unload, and transfer fuels through pipelines, hoses to and from the tank farm, oil tankers, ships, barges, and tank trucks.
You will operate gasoline or diesel powered vehicles with gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds and 2,000 gallon fuel capacity to transport fuel throughout the facility and to authorized customers.
You will occasionally operate cranes up to 20 ton capacity for fuel pier operations.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Forklift Operator Licsense.
You will be required to obtain and mantain a Class B drivers license with HAZMAT endorsement.
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: performing the majority of the following Fuel Distribution Systems Worker duties: receive, issue, store and transfer petroleum and other products; operate special stations in a fuel distribution system to transfer fuel and other petroleum products from fuel distribution facility workstation to ships, refuel units, and/or tank trucks; log all operational and maintenance data for official record keeping purposes; read meters, take samples, temperature, water cuts, and gross liquid gauges; check condition of tanks; couple and uncouple hoses. Operates gasoline or diesel powered vehicles with gross vehicle weight of 26,000 pounds and 2,000-gallon fuel capacity, to transport fuel through the facility and to authorized customers. My work is spot checked periodically and upon completion for compliance to specifications. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.

You must be in good physical condition, position requires physical effort and ability to climb, stoop, lift, pull, and withstand heavy exertion.
